
CWON OTA, ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE

Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria (CWON) of St. Peter Catholic Church, Iganmode Road, Ota, Abeokuta Diocese in Ogun State, has elected new officials to oversee the affairs of the organization in the next four years. The new Executives are: President, Mrs. Nkwocha Uchenna Elizabeth; Vice President, Mrs. Mary Hassan; Secretary, Mrs. Dialeme Blessing; Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Okafor Joy; Financial Secretary, Mrs, Ejikeme Jennifer; Treasurer, Mrs. Hunyingan Deborah; Public Relations Officer, Mrs Ogochukwu Ikpere; Provost 1, Mrs. Oluchukwu Mary Jane; Provost 2, Mrs Michelin Vodoun; Welfare 1, Mrs. Okorie Elizabeth; and Welfare 2 - Mrs. Mbagwu Caroline.
The new President who is a Catholic by birth is from SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Egbelu Obube Imo State, Owerri Diocese and has been worshipping at St. Peter Ota for over twelve years. She was the former Secretary of CWON, Ota before her elevation to the position of President. She belongs to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary and is the 2nd Vice President of the Parish's Laity Council.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Nkwocha said: “If Mother Mary has decided to call me for the third time, who am I to say No? I won't paddle this canoe alone; I need the help of the executives and mothers in general to paddle this canoe with me.” She emphasized. The immediate past President of the organization Mrs. Ogedengbe Theresa congratulated her and assured her of her support always and in all ways.
The new executive will be introduced to the Diocese during the CWON Diocesan Meeting coming up next month while their inauguration will take place on a date to be determined by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Clement Ajibola Ashade.
