
ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, FIDITI, CELEBRATES 2025 CHILDREN’S DAY IN GRAND STYLE.

The atmosphere at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fiditi, was filled with joy and excitement as the parish marked the 2025 Children’s Day celebration with vibrant activities and heartfelt messages.
The event featured a keynote address by the Directress of Religious Education of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Rev. Sr. Mary-Assumpta Taiwo, SSMA. Speaking to the children and their parents, she emphasized the critical role of proper home training in the development of children. She highlighted that good parenting, rooted in Christian values, is essential in guiding the younger generation toward a purposeful life. She also underscored the value of formal education, urging parents to support their children’s academic pursuits while instilling discipline and moral values.
Rev. Sr. Mary-Assumpta encouraged the children to appreciate the opportunity of being educated and to make the most of their formative years by being open to corrections and learning.
The celebration included various fun and engaging activities such as competitions and a match-past, with prizes awarded to outstanding participants. The children showcased their talents and enthusiasm, adding colour and energy to the event.
In his remarks, the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Michael Falade, echoed the importance of deliberate efforts by parents to shape their children into responsible and God-fearing adults. He called on parents to lead by example and take an active role in nurturing the future of the Church and society.
