St. Jude Catholic Church Iwo Road came alive with colour, music, fellowship and thanksgiving as the parish celebrated its South-South Cultural Harvest on 20th September 2026. The Mass was presided over by the Parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Richard Omolade. The event offered a beautiful expression of how faith and cultural heritage can come together to strengthen community, preserve tradition and celebrate the gifts of God.

Parishioners and guests turned out in a rich display of traditional clothing, coral beads, distinctive headgear and other cultural accessories. Children, young people and adults participated in the celebration, creating a warm atmosphere of unity across generations.

The harvest was more than a cultural display. It was an opportunity to give thanks to God, appreciate the diversity represented within the Church and encourage members to value the traditions passed down from one generation to another.

A major feature of the celebration was the presentation of awards in recognition of contributions and participation. The presentations added a special moment of appreciation, reminding everyone that service, commitment and support are valuable parts of parish life.

The celebration also featured the presentation and sharing of local delicacies, giving guests an opportunity to experience the richness of South-South cuisine. The food, cultural displays and traditional attire created a colourful picture of the region's heritage.

In the spirit of harvest, donations and gifts were also presented. These acts of generosity reflected the Christian values of gratitude, charity and concern for others.

The gathering concluded in an atmosphere of joy and togetherness, with families and friends sharing photographs, conversations and memories.
